State of Uttarakhand came into existence from erstwhile state of Uttar Pradesh on 9th November, 2000. After demand and agitation of masses to have a separate Hill State. The Hon’ble High Court came into existence on the raising day of the state of Uttarakhand i.e; 9th November, 2000. The High Court Bar Association Nainital owes its origin to High Court of Allahabad which was established by a royal charter as the High Court of Judicature for the North Western Province on 17 March, 1866 and was seated at Agra. The Hon’ble High Court of Nainital at Uttarakhand since its inception at Nainital has provided justice to the people residing in Far Flung areas of hilly region of state of Uttarakhand. The High Court Bar Association is presently in its youth and have legacy of about 17 years. The High Court Bar Association, Nainital with its senior and junior members have contribute a lot to the legal principles in the field of law. Despite being the hilly region and difficult Geographical terrain the advocates from all the parts of the state have contributed in the development of legal structure at the High Court. The camaraderie among the senior and junior members of the Bar is one of its own kind anywhere in the country and it would not be out of the place to mention that the High Court Bar Association at Nainital is one of the most disciplined Bar Association throughout the country.
